Bluestone II was receiving bids from several contractors in regards to adding insulation to its buildings. Turn Cycle Solutions was not only able to win the bid for insulation, but was also able to provide the Bluestone II residents with a free heating system inspection, free air sealing, and free programmable thermostats, faucet aerators and low flow showerheads for each resident. Throughout the duration of the project, Turn Cycle Solutions worked extensively with North Point Property Management, the property management company.
Turn Cycle Solutions first conducted an energy efficiency inspection of the Bluestone II buildings. TCS then conducted over 163 hours of air sealing to the attics of Bluestone II’s buildings. The entire project including the insulation, air sealing and installation instant savings measures were completed in approximately three weeks, with no interruption to the daily lives of the residents.
The Bluestone II project was valued at more than $27,000, but all was paid for with no cost to the property management organization or condominium residents through Liberty Utilities Weatherization program. The estimated energy reduction and utility savings is roughly 20 to 30 percent of the property’s original energy usage.
