Many homeowners in the area have enjoyed services through Turn Cycle Solutions. Here are a few of their stories:

Paul Mercier
Canterbury, NH

Date started: 6/5/10
Date completed: 8/16/10

Summary:
Paul Mercier was a referral of Freedom Renewable, one of our affiliate renewable energy installers. When speaking with Paul, he stated his concerns about his home having high fuel bills and not being able to really have any control over it, so he made the choice to lower his energy fixed costs with us! An energy audit of Paul’s home was completed by Turn Cycle Solutions and then measures were made. Some of the solutions for Paul included blown in cellulose insulation over the attics in his house and garage, a thermal dome placed over the attic stair case, air sealing, and pipe wrap. Turn Cycle was also able to find Paul related federal tax rebates that lowered the cost of the project. After the entire process was complete, Paul was very satisfied with his $3,000 savings in his first year with the improvements.

Hi Mike,
I was taking a quick look at some numbers this afternoon and can say with confidence that for the year ended December 31, 2010, we’ll save nearly $3,000 over last year’s costs. That’s taking into consideration that last year we purchased 3-tons of wood pellets at $269 plus a few more bags (we spent $943.74 in total for pellets) and this year we had four tons delivered at a cost of $1,046. Whereas we shut down the big room over the garage and are using the furnace mainly for hot water, I’ll estimate that our oil costs will be about $2,500 less than last year and our electricity will be about $560 less (actually $556.58 as I just paid the December bill). Everything in combination . . . given the energy work and conservation measures, it will probably take another year or two to actually see the trend. However, I wanted to touch base to thank you both for all your attention in helping us to achieve these results.
Thanks and happy holidays,
Paul

Gary Lanoie
Epsom, NH

Date Started 12/3/10
Date Completed: 2/8/11

Summary:

Gary Lanoie came into contact with Turn Cycle Solutions through our affiliate Building Efficiencies.  Gary expressed how he wanted to improve his home’s efficiency as much as possible.  A home energy audit was performed and Gary decided to go forward with all of the suggested measures.  Some of these measures included blown in cellulose insulation in the attic and garage, applying spray foam in the basement, dense packing cellulose in the garage ceiling, in addition to air sealing the home.  After the completion of these improvements, Turn Cycle Solutions was able to estimate 32% energy savings for Gary and his family.

Testimonial:
Through verbal discussions, Mr. Lanoie expressed his gratitude to the Turn Cycle Solutions team.  Gary was particularly impressed with how the team handled such a large scale of work in a timely manner.  Gary was so pleased with the work that he called Turn Cycle again to insulate the outside of his home using spray foam insulation.

Michael and Susan Mulski
Nashua, NH

Date Started: 3/29/11
Date Completed: 7/29/11

Summary:

The Mulski’s spoke with Mike Turcotte, owner of Turn Cycle Solutions, at the 2011 New Hampshire Home Builder and Remodeler Association’s trade show.  The Mulski’s were looking to lower their monthly energy bills and carbon foot print.  The energy audit revealed that the Mulski residence needed blown in cellulose insulation in the attic, spray foam in the basement, air sealing and pipe wrap.  The Mulski’s elected to go forward with each of these suggestions, in addition to some others like a rain water catching barrel.  The improvements yielded a 36% energy improvement, as calculated by Turn Cycle Solutions.  Turn Cycle was able to incorporate the National Grid incentives in addition to Better Buildings rebate and financing along with a federal tax rebate.  The Mulski’s paid less than half of the original price and were able to finance the rest of the cost with a 1% loan through the Better Buildings program.

Testimonial:

“Mike and the Turn Cycle Solutions team were polite and professional during all phases of the project.  We highly recommend them for any green solutions for your home!”

Don Hamlin
Nashua, NH

Date Completed: February 2012

“Mike Turcotte from Turn Cycle Solutions and Better Buildings did a
great job in finally warming up my bedroom.

My problem was we have a master bedroom which is over an unheated
garage. The room was designed as a bonus room but it was surely not
suited for a bedroom. Every night was like camping out. We moved to
NH two years ago. For the first NH winter, we armed ourselves with a
heating blanket, two space heaters & timers to tum them on prior to
bedtime. My wife actually turned on the heater to warm up her clothes
in the morning. I vowed to make our second winter much better.

Through Better Buildings & National Grid (NG), I found Mike Turcotte.
He is a certified contractor through NG’s conservation program. He
patiently explained the current challenges & how they could be
addressed. Through air sealing & adding additional insulation in
garage sealing, attic & knee walls I now can experience a bed room
instead of a camp out. No more heaters. My wife said just this
morning, “I don’t need to turn on my heater to heat my clothes.”
Believe me, that was a first!

Mike also told me about the Better Buildings program. Through both NG
& Better Buildings rebates, I only wound up paying $1,600 of the
almost $5,000. And I was able to get a 1% loan for the $1,600.
Wow, now that was a deal!

Thank you Mike. Any camping from now on will be done outside!”
